The LRNRD’s annual tree planting program encourages area landowners to engage in soil erosion and conservation practices. On average, the LRNRD sells 25,000 trees each year.

Contact your local NRCS for help in determining the type and number of trees needed. The NRCS technician will make arrangements for the tree order and planting service; the trees will be planted according to this plan. Trees are planted in the spring, as soon as conditions are suitable. The NRD tree coordinators will notify landowners as to the approximate date and time of the planting.

 Planting Your Own Trees

Trees to be planted by the coordinator (hand-plants) can be ordered at the NRCS office. The minimum order for hand-plant trees is a full bundle (25 or 50 trees).

 Deadlines To Order Trees

Deadlines for placing these orders are the first Friday in March for machine plants and the second Friday in March for hand-plants. Customers are notified when their hand-plant trees are available.
